Always set the parking brake before leaving the vehicle. In this case, if the ignition key is in the "ON" ("Ignition") or "START" ("Starter") position, the parking brake indicator lamp lights up. Before driving, make sure the parking brake is released and the indicator lamp is off.
To engage the parking brake, pull the lever up all the way.
To release the parking brake, pull the lever up while pressing the release button on the end of the lever. Then, without releasing the button, lower the lever.
