General description of the heating system (Hyundai Elantra J1)

Outside air enters the vehicle interior through the air intake in the rear part of the hood, either independently or additionally with the help of a fan. When the heating is turned on, the damper opens the way for air flow through the heater core, which looks like a small radiator. The passing air is heated by the radiator fins.

In order to increase the heater power, a four-stage heater fan is used.

Typical elements of a heating system (early models of the car)
1 - fan;
2 - fan rotor;
3 - sealing ring;
4 - fan motor;
5 - resistance;
6 - heater body;
7 - air ducts.

Elements of the heating system (late model cars)
1 - heater;
2 - air conditioning unit;
3 - manual control of the heating/air conditioning system;
4 - control panel for the "Climate control" system.
