General precautions when performing interior maintenance work
Avoid contact with alkaline solutions such as perfume and cosmetic oils on the dashboard as they may damage it or cause discoloration of the material. If such oil does come into contact with the dashboard, wipe it off immediately. See the instructions below for cleaning vinyl products.
Caution: Do not, under any circumstances, allow water or other liquids to come into contact with electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage.
Caution: Use neutral or low alcohol cleaning agents to clean leather surfaces (steering wheel, seat upholstery, etc.). Using solutions with high alcohol content or acid/alkaline cleaning agents may cause color fading or remove the top layer of leather.
Cleaning of upholstery and interior trim elements
Vinyl
Remove dust and light dirt from the surface of the vinyl elements using a broom or vacuum cleaner. Clean their surfaces using a special cleaner for vinyl elements.
Textile
Remove dust and light dirt from the surface of fabric elements using a duster or vacuum cleaner. Clean with a solution of non-alkaline soap recommended for fabric upholstery or rugs. Remove fresh stains as quickly as possible using a stain remover for fabric surfaces. If a fresh stain is left unnoticed, the fabric may become discolored and its color may be damaged. In addition, if the material is not properly cared for, its fire resistance may be reduced.
Caution: Failure to use recommended cleaning products and methods may adversely affect the appearance of the fabric and its flame resistance.
Cleaning the woven material of the combined lap/shoulder belt
Clean webbing with a solution of non-alkaline soap recommended for fabric upholstery or carpeting. Follow the soap manufacturer's directions. Do not bleach or re-dye webbing, as this may weaken the webbing.
Cleaning glass from the inside
If the inside surfaces of your car windows are fogged (i.e. covered with an oily, greasy or waxy film), they should be cleaned with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner package.
Caution: Do not scrape or scrape the interior-facing surface of the rear window. This may damage the rear window defroster mesh.
