Vehicle identification number (VIN)
Vehicle identification number (VIN) used when registering a car and in all legal situations related to ownership rights, etc. It is located on the B-pillar on the driver's side and on the bottom of the front passenger seat.
Engine number
The engine number is stamped on the cylinder block in the places shown by the arrows in the figure.
Tires
Hyundai has been fitted with tires designed to give the vehicle the best performance under normal driving conditions.
The recommended tire pressures can be found on the label on the B-pillar on the driver's side.
The indicated pressure values provide a good combination of tire performance in terms of driving comfort, wear and vehicle stability under normal driving conditions. Tire pressure should be checked at least once a month. The required tire pressure must be maintained for the following reasons:
- Under-inflated tires cause uneven tread wear and poor vehicle handling.
- High pressure increases the risk of impact damage to the tires and also leads to uneven tire wear.
Winter tires
Winter tires must be the same size and load capacity as the standard tires. In order not to impair handling, winter tires must be put on all four wheels.
Winter tire pressure must be 28 kPa higher than the recommended standard tire pressure indicated on the label on the end of the driver's door, or equal to the maximum allowable pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire, whichever is lower. Do not exceed 120 km/h after installing winter tires
Anti-skid chains
If necessary, install chains on the front wheels. Chains must be of the correct size and installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. To prevent wear on the bars and chains, remove the chains as soon as they are no longer needed.
Wheel swap
Wheels should be rearranged every 10,000 km. If you notice uneven tire wear between rotations, have your Hyundai dealer check the vehicle to determine the cause.
After rearranging the wheels, set the required tire pressure and check the tightness of the wheel nuts.
Wheel balancing
Wheel imbalance adversely affects handling and tire wear. A new Hyundai vehicle is issued to the owner with balanced wheels, however, over time, they may need to be re-balanced. Each time the wheels are repaired, they must be balanced before being installed on the vehicle.
Tire ground grip
Tire grip with the ground is reduced when they are worn out, inconsistent with the pressure in them to the norm, or on slippery roads. Tires should be replaced as soon as the tread wear indicators appear. To reduce the risk of losing control of your vehicle, slow down when driving on wet, snowy or icy road surfaces.
The standard tires of your car have wear indicators that appear when the tread depth decreases to 1.6 mm. The tire should be replaced when the indicators appear as a continuous webbing in two or more tread grooves. Install tires of the specified size only. When replacing wheel rims, install rims that meet Hyundai's specifications for size and offset.
Spare wheel and on-board tool
Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with a spare wheel, a wheel nut wrench with a wrench, a wrench, a screwdriver, a jack.
Fuel used
Petrol. Hyundai must use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 91 (research method). The use of leaded gasoline will cause catalytic converter failure and emission control systems to malfunction.
In addition, this will lead to an increase in maintenance costs for the Hyundai vehicle. To prevent accidental refueling with leaded gasoline, the vehicle's fuel filler neck has a reduced diameter into which a filling nozzle used for leaded gasoline cannot be inserted.
Diesel fuel. If both types of fuel are available, use respectively summer or winter fuel at the following outside temperature:
- Above -5°C: summer diesel fuel.
- Below -5°C: winter summer fuel.
Carefully monitor the level of fuel in the tank: in the event of an engine stop when the fuel is completely depleted, it will be necessary to remove air from the entire fuel system to start the engine.
Do not use methanol. Use fuel containing methanol on your Hyundai (wood alcohol) prohibited, as this will lead to a decrease in engine performance and damage to the elements of the power system.
