2. To prevent damage to the automatic transmission when the range is incorrectly selected (for example, moving from "N" V "R" when moving forward) a lock is installed on the selector lever, only when pressed, it is possible "dangerous" switching. The latch allows you to avoid the situation when, through negligence, one of the invalid ranges of motion can be turned on.
- When switching, you need to press the lock and the brake pedal. - When switching, you need to press the latch. - When switching to the latch, you do not need to press. |
Position "R"
It is selected when the car is parked for a long time. In this position of the selector lever in the gearbox, all controls are turned off and its output shaft is blocked: the vehicle cannot move. Move the lever to this position only at a complete stop. Moving the lever into position "R" while driving will damage the transmission.
Position "R"
Reverse gear. The selector lever can only be moved to this position when the vehicle is stationary. Moving the lever to position "R" while moving forward, it can lead to failure of the gearbox and other transmission components.
Position "N"
Corresponds to neutral. In the gearbox, all controls are turned off, which ensures that there is no rigid kinematic connection between its drive and driven shafts. In this case, the output shaft blocking mechanism is disabled, i.e. the car can move freely. It is not recommended to move the selector lever to the position "N" while coasting (by inertia). Never turn off the ignition when driving downhill. This practice is dangerous because it could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
Position "D"
Basic driving mode. It provides automatic shifting from first to fourth gear. In normal driving conditions, it is recommended to use it.
Manual switching mode
1. The floor console has two slots in which the automatic transmission selector lever moves: the main slot and the manual shift slot. Regardless of whether the vehicle is in motion or stationary, the transition to manual gearshift mode is performed by moving the automatic transmission selector lever from the position "D" into the corresponding slot.
2. In manual mode, fast gear shifting is possible by moving the selector lever forward (T) or back (-). With each movement, a correspondingly higher or lower gear will be engaged. Unlike manual transmission, manual mode allows you to shift gears while pressing the accelerator pedal.
Attention: smoothly, without undue force, move the selector lever between the slots in the console and between different positions. Otherwise, the lever may break.
Note: when shifting to manual shift mode, the indicator "D" on the combination will go out and the indicator will light up "1". Further, when shifting gears, the indicator corresponding to the selected gear will light up.
3. In manual mode, there is no automatic upshifting. The driver must himself engage the overdrive in accordance with road conditions and engine speed.
4. Fast double shift of the selector lever back (-) allows you to skip one gear when shifting (e.g. shift from 3rd gear to 1st gear). Since heavy engine braking and/or rapid acceleration can cause loss of traction, downshifting should be done carefully according to vehicle speed.
5. To ensure safety and driving performance, the automatic transmission control system may not perform some gear shifts when the selector lever is moved (e.g. shifting into 4th gear when the car is moving at low speed).
6. When the vehicle speed decreases, the downshift occurs automatically. When the car comes to a stop, first gear is automatically engaged.
7. For easier starting on slippery or snowy roads in manual mode, move the selector lever forward (+). This will engage second gear. Moving the selector lever down (-) will result in first gear.
