Cruise control system (Hyundai Sonata EF)

0
1. The cruise control system automatically maintains the set speed without pressing the accelerator pedal. This system is recommended for long-term driving on highways with low traffic volume.

Warning: To avoid emergency situations, it is not recommended to activate the cruise control system if driving conditions do not allow you to drive at a constant speed (for example, in heavy traffic within the city, on winding roads covered with ice or snow, on wet or slippery roads, on steep descents).

2. The cruise control system is activated when the driving speed is above 40 km/h by pressing the main switch as shown in the figure.

2. The cruise control system is…

Caution: If the cruise control system is not used, set the main switch to the "OFF" position (turn off the system).

Note: On models with automatic transmission, the selector lever must be in the "D" position before using the cruise control system.

3. Control of the constant speed maintenance system.
  • a) The cruise control system is controlled by switches when the main switch is in the "ON" position (the system is on).
  • b) To activate the cruise control mode while driving, maintaining the desired speed (over 40 km/h), press the switch ("SET/COAST"). After the mode is turned on, the cruise control mode indicator will light up on the instrument cluster.
  • c) To gradually decrease the set speed when the cruise control mode is on, press the switch ("SET / COAST") and hold in this position until the desired speed is reached, then release the switch.

c) To gradually decrease the set speed…

Note: To reduce the speed, you can press the brake pedal and after reaching the desired value, turn on the cruise control mode ("SET") again. In this case, the cruise control mode will be turned on with a delay of about 3 seconds and this is not a malfunction.

  • d) To gradually increase the set speed when the cruise control mode is on, press the switch ("RESUME/ ACCEL") and hold in this position until the desired speed is reached, then release the switch.

d) To gradually increase the set speed…

Note: To accelerate during a maneuver, press the accelerator pedal. When the pedal is released, the vehicle speed will decrease to the previously set value and will be automatically maintained at this level.

  • d) If the speed of the cruise control mode is not reduced below 40 km/h when it is switched off automatically or switched off using the control switch, the previously set speed can be restored by pressing the switch ("RESUME/ACCEL").

Please note: the cruise control mode will be automatically deactivated in the following cases: pressing the clutch pedal (manual transmission models) or the brake pedal, moving the automatic transmission selector lever to the "N" position, reducing the driving speed to 40 km/h or less, reducing the speed by 15 km/h relative to the value set by the system (for example, on a steep slope).

4. To turn off the cruise control system, press the main switch again or press the switch ("CANCEL").

4. To turn off the cruise control…
