Electronic control unit of gasoline engine (ECM) (Hyundai Tucson LM)

Removal

Note: If the vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer or push-button start system, perform the Key Learning procedure.

1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect the Engine Control Module (ECM) connector (A)



3. Remove the battery.

4. Remove the bolts (A) and nut (B), then remove the engine control module (ECM) (C).

Installation

Note: If the vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer or push-button start system, perform the Key Learning procedure.

Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note:

Tightening torque:

• Engine Control Module (ECM) mounting bolt: 3.9 - 5.9 Nm.
• Engine Control Module (ECM) Bracket Mounting Bolt: 21.6 - 32.4 Nm.
• Engine Control Module (ECM) Bracket Fastening Nut: 9.8-14.7 Nm.
