Disconnect the connectors from the ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU) and the ABS pump motor (Fig. 6.61).

Disconnect the brake pipes from the ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU).

Loosen the ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU) mounting bolt, and then remove the unit.

Caution: Never attempt to disassemble the ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU).


Caution! The ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU) must be carried and stored in an upright position with the holes plugged. Do not drain the brake fluid from the ABS Integrated Control Unit (HECU) (i.e. the ABS hydraulic unit).




Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten the ABS integrated control unit (HECU) mounting bolts and brake pipe nuts to the specified torque.

Tightening torque of the ABS integrated control unit (HECU) mounting bolt: 8–10 N·m.

Brake pipe nuts: 13–17 Nm.
