Turn signal switch

When the switch lever is moved downward from the center position, the left turn signals are turned on, and when the switch lever is moved upward, the right turn signals are turned on. When the turn is completed, the switch lever automatically returns to the center position and the turn signals are turned off. If one of the turn signal indicator lamps flashes at an increased rate, or comes on but does not flash, or does not come on at all, this indicates a malfunction in the turn signal circuits. Check the system for a blown fuse or burnt out bulb, or see a Hyundai dealer.

When the switch lever is moved downward…

To signal a lane change, move the switch lever up or down until the turn signals start flashing. When released, the lever automatically returns to the center position.

Outdoor Light Switch

Outdoor Light Switch

The exterior lighting is switched on by rotating the drum switch. When the switch is turned to the first fixed position, the side lights, parking lights, tail lights and instrument cluster illumination are switched on. When turned to the second position, the low beam headlights are switched on.

Note: The exterior lighting is switched on when the ignition key is in the "ON" position.

Automatic parking light switch-off

If you do not turn off the parking light at the end of the trip, it will automatically turn off when you open the driver's door.

To turn on the parking light, simply set the ignition key to the "ON" position.

Daytime running lights (optional)

Your Hyundai is equipped with a daytime running light system that improves your vehicle's visibility to oncoming drivers. The headlights are always on when the engine is running, although the headlight switch may be in the "OFF" position. The daytime running light turns off when the parking brake is applied.

Headlight high beam switch

To turn on the high beam headlights, move the switch lever forward (away from you). This will cause the high beam indicator light to come on. To switch the headlights to low beam, move the switch lever toward you.

High beam headlights alarm

To signal with high beam headlights, move the light switch lever along the steering column towards you and release it. Signaling with high beams is also provided when the exterior lighting is off.

Automatic switching on of external lighting (additional equipment)

Automatic switching on of external…

To turn on the exterior lighting automatically, turn the drum switch of the exterior lighting switch lever to the "A11TO" position. The headlights and taillights will then turn on automatically depending on the ambient light.

Windshield and rear window wiper and washer switch

Windshield and rear window wiper and…

The windshield wiper switch has three positions:

  • 1. Intermittent operation mode ("INT")
  • 2. Continuous low speed mode ("LOW")
  • 3. Continuous mode with high speed ("HI")

Note: To avoid damaging the windshield wiper, do not attempt to remove a thick layer of snow or ice from the glass with it. Snow or ice in such quantities should be removed manually. To remove a thin layer of snow or ice, turn on the interior heater to blow on the glass and do not turn on the windshield wiper until the snow or ice has melted.

Turning on the windshield washer

Turning on the windshield washer

To turn on the windshield washer, press the wiper and washer switch lever towards the steering wheel. When you turn on the washer, the windshield wiper automatically turns on for two strokes. The washer operates until you release the switch lever.

Note:
  • Do not operate the washer for more than 15 seconds or when the washer reservoir is empty.
  • Before turning on the windshield wiper in freezing weather, make sure that the blades are not frozen to the glass.
  • In areas with frosty winters, fill the washer reservoir with antifreeze during the winter.

Switching on the windscreen wiper for one stroke of the brushes (position "MIST")

Switching on the windscreen wiper for…

If you need to turn on the windshield wiper for one stroke, for example to clear fogged-up glass from the outside, press the switch lever up.

Adjusting the frequency of the wiper blades in intermittent mode

Adjusting the frequency of the wiper…

To activate the intermittent wiper, set the switch to the "INT" position. In this position, the interval between wiper movements can be changed from 1 to 18 seconds by turning the interval drum switch to the appropriate position. The frequency of wiper movement also changes automatically depending on the driving speed.

The duration of continuous operation of the washer should not exceed 15 seconds. Do not turn on the washer if there is no liquid in its reservoir: - the system may fail. Do not allow the cleaner to operate on dry glass: this will cause scratches on the glass and accelerated wear of the brushes.
