Draining the refrigerant from the air conditioning system (Hyundai Tucson JM)

1. Connect a set of control pressure gauges to the system.

2. Place a towel under the open end of the central hose.

3. Drain the refrigerant by slowly opening the high pressure line valve.

Note: If the refrigerant is drained too quickly, compressor oil may be drained from the system.


4. Check if there are any oil stains on the towel. If there are, slightly close the valve.

5. When the pressure gauge reading drops below 0.35 MPa, slowly open the low pressure line valve.

6. Slowly open the high and low pressure line valves until the pressure gauges show 0 MPa.
