Removal
1. Remove the crankshaft and engine coolant pump pulleys, then remove the drive belt.
2. Remove the timing belt covers.
3. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and align the timing marks so that the piston of cylinder No.1 is at the top dead center of the compression stroke.
At this time, the timing marks of the camshaft gears should be at the top.
Remove the tensioner.
Warning: Rotate the crankshaft clockwise.

4. Remove the timing belt.
5. Remove the camshaft timing gears.
Note: If the timing belt has been in use before, mark the direction of the timing belt (or the front of the engine) so that it runs in the same direction after installation as before.

Note: Do not damage the cylinder head with wrenches.

6. After removing the oil pump gear nut, remove the plug on the left side of the cylinder block and insert a screwdriver to hold the shaft in position.

7. Remove the oil pump gear mounting nut, then remove the pump gear.
8. Loosen the right countershaft balance shaft gear mounting bolt until it can be turned by hand.

9. After this, remove the tensioner "B" and the toothed belt "B"
Warning: After removing the timing belt "B", do not attempt to loosen the bolt by holding the timing belt with pliers, etc.
10. Remove gear "B" from the crankshaft.
