2. Turn off the engine and wait until the engine coolant temperature reaches 80-95°C.
3. Start the engine and disconnect the spark plug wires.
4. Remove the spark plugs.
5. Turn the crankshaft to remove any debris from the cylinders.
6. Install the compression gauge into the spark plug hole.

7. Press the accelerator pedal until the valve is fully open.
8. Turn the engine crankshaft and take readings from the instrument.
- Limit value: 12.0 kg/cm² [250-400 rpm].
9. Repeat steps 6–8 on all cylinders, making sure that the pressure difference in the cylinders corresponds to the specified limit values.
- Limit value: Max. difference 1.0 kg/cm² between cylinders.
10. If the compression or pressure difference in the cylinders is below the specified value, add a small amount of oil through the spark plug hole and repeat steps 6 - 9.
- 1) If adding oil has increased compression, then there is a possibility of wear between the piston rings and the cylinder bore.
- 2) If the compression remains the same, then the probable causes of this may be stuck valves, poor valve seat condition or a leaky cylinder head gasket.
- Tightening torque: Spark plug 20-30 Nm.
