Coolant pump.
1 - alternator drive belt, 2 - power steering pump drive belt, 3 - coolant pump pulley, 4 - crankshaft pulley, 5 - alternator adjusting bar, 6 - timing belt upper cover, 7 - timing belt lower cover, 8 - timing belt.
Withdrawal
1. Drain the coolant.
Note: To avoid burns, do not remove the radiator cap or expansion tank cap while the engine is hot, as fluid and vapor are under pressure.
2. Disconnect the coolant supply pipe from the coolant pump.
3. Remove the alternator drive belt and coolant pump pulley.
4. Remove the timing belt covers, timing belt and timing belt tensioner pulley.
5. Turn away bolts of fastening of the pump of a cooling liquid, then remove an adjusting lath of the generator.
6. Remove the coolant pump assembly from the cylinder block.
Examination
1. Check the pump for cracks, damage or wear. Replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
2. Check the bearing for damage, excessive running noise and slow rotation, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
3. Check pump for coolant leaks from seals. Replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
4. Check pump for coolant leaks. If there are coolant leaks, the stuffing box assembly is faulty. Replace water pump assembly.
Installation
1. Remove the remnants of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the coolant pump and cylinder block.
2. Install a new O-ring into the groove on the front of the coolant supply pipe, then coat the gasket with some water or coolant. Do not apply grease or oil.
3. Install the coolant pump with a new gasket and tighten the pump-to-cylinder block bolts to nominal torque.
- Tightening torque: 20-27 Nm
4. Install the timing belt tensioner and timing belt. Adjust the timing belt tension, then install the belt covers.
5. Install the water pump pulley and alternator drive belt, then adjust the belt tension.
6. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
7. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks
