Withdrawal
1. Remove the drain plug and drain the coolant.
2 Remove the accessory drive belt and auto-tensioner.
3. Remove the timing belt covers, automatic timing belt tensioner and timing belt idler.
4. Turn away bolts of fastening of the pump of a cooling liquid.
5. Remove the coolant pump assembly from the cylinder block.
Examination
1. Check each part for cracks, damage or wear, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
2. Check the bearing for damage, excessive running noise and slow rotation, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
3. Check the pump for coolant leaks from the stuffing box assembly. Replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
Installation
1. Remove the remnants of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the coolant pump and cylinder block.
2. Install the coolant pump with a new gasket and tighten the pump mounting bolts to nominal torque.
- Tightening torque: 15-22 Nm
3. Install the auto tensioner, idler and timing belt. Adjust the timing belt tension, then install the timing belt covers.
4. Install the auto tensioner and accessory drive belt, then adjust the belt tension with the auto tensioner.
5. Fill the cooling system with clean coolant.
6. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
