MFI fuel injection system (Hyundai Getz 1)

0
If the MFI system components (sensors, ECM, injectors, etc.) fail, the fuel supply to the Hyundai Getz engine cylinders is disrupted in various operating modes, which leads to the following situations.

1. The engine starts with difficulty or does not start.

2. The engine runs unsteadily at idle.

3. The engine operates unstably in all modes.

If any of the above situations occur, first perform the normal diagnostics (ignition system, engine adjustments, etc.), then check the MFI system components with the HI-SCAN scanner.

Note.
  • Before removing or replacing any system component, read the fault codes, then disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
  • Before disconnecting the negative battery cable, turn the ignition off. Disconnecting the cable while the engine is running or with the ignition on may damage the ECM.
  • The connection between the oxygen sensor and the ECM is made with a shielded wire to reduce possible interference from the ignition system. If the shielding braid is damaged, the wire must be replaced.
  • When checking the generator, do not disconnect the positive battery cable to avoid damaging the ECM.
  • When charging a battery installed in a vehicle from an external source, to avoid damaging the ECM, first disconnect the vehicle's on-board network wires from the battery terminals.
