Fig. 3.73. Lock nut for fastening the automatic transmission control cable to the manual control lever
Loosen the lock nut securing the automatic transmission control cable to the manual control lever (manual control lever) (Fig. 3.73).
Set the manual control lever to the "N" (neutral) position.
Fig. 3.74. Manual control lever adjustment diagram
Loosen the starter interlock switch mounting bolts and rotate the switch housing so that the 12 mm hole on the end of the manual control lever aligns with the 12 mm hole in the switch housing flange (Fig. 3.74).
Tighten the switch mounting bolts to the specified torque without allowing the switch position to change.
Tightening torque of the starter interlock switch mounting bolts: 10–12 N·m.
Note: Be careful when adjusting the starter lock switch position, do not drop the O-ring from the switch housing. Carefully tighten the switch mounting bolts.
Check that the automatic transmission selector lever is in the "N" position (neutral position).

Adjust the tension of the automatic transmission control cable with a flange nut so that the cable is slightly taut, then check the smooth movement of the automatic transmission selector lever (Fig. 3.75).
Perform a road test and check the ranges engaged for each position of the automatic transmission selector lever and ensure that the transmission operates normally in each range.
