1. Wrap the splined portion of the shaft with insulating tape to prevent damage to the boots.

2. Apply grease to the drive shaft and install the hinge boots.

Lubricant type:
  • for models with engines with a working volume of 2.0 and 2.4 l:
    • external: CENTOPLEX 278M/136K
    • internal: KLK TJ41-182
  • for models with 2.7 l engines:
    • external: CENTURY
    • internal: ONE LUBER GKN

3. While holding the outer joint and drive shaft in a straight line, install the damper as shown in the figure and tighten the clamp.

4. Fill the inner joint and inner joint boot with grease.
  • Lubricant type:
    • for models with engines with a working volume of 2.0 and 2.4 l:
      • external: CENTOPLEX 278M/136K
      • internal: KLK TJ41-182
    • for models with 2.7 l engines:
      • external: CENTURY
      • internal: ONE LUBER GKN
  • Amount of grease for the joint for models with engines with a working volume of:
    • 2.0 l: 75±3 g
    • 2.4 l: 100±3 g
    • 2.7 l: 100±3 g
  • Amount of grease for cover: 40±3 g
  • Amount of grease for the joint for models with engines with a working volume of:
    • 2.0L, 2.4L: 45±3g
    • 2.7L: 60±3 g

5. Add grease to the outer joint race in an amount equal to the amount of grease removed during inspection.



6. Install the hinge boots and boot clamps.

7. Tighten the clamps of the outer joint boot and, after checking that the shaft length corresponds to the technical data, tighten the clamps of the inner joint boot.

Length "A" of the left shaft for models with engines with a working volume of:
  • 2.0 l: 624.5±2 mm
  • 2.4 l: 687.6±2 mm

2.4 l: 687.6±2 mm

  • 2.7 l: 706.0±2 mm

2.7 l: 706.0±2 mm


Length "A" of the right shaft for models with engines with a working volume of:
  • 2.0 l: 937.5±2 mm
  • 2.4 l: 1000.6±2 mm

2.4 l: 1000.6±2 mm

  • 2.7 l: 686.5±2 mm
