Checking the drive shaft (models with manual transmission)
1. Check outer and inner races, cage and balls for damage or rust.
2. Check the spline of the drive shaft for excessive wear.
3. Check that there is no water, debris, dirt, or rust in the protective boot of the outer hinge.
Caution: If the outer pivot assembly is to be reinstalled, do not degrease it. Check for foreign particles in the joint lubricant. If necessary, completely clean the outer joint of dirt and grease, then apply new grease to the inner surface of the joint.
Checking the drive shaft (models with automatic transmission)
1. Check the spline of the drive shaft for excessive wear.

3. Check the uniformity of rotation of the rollers on the axles of the triple joint, make sure that there is no increased wear and corrosion.
4. Check the inner joint race groove for wear and corrosion.
5. Check the damper for damage and cracks.
