Fuel manifold — removal and installation (Hyundai Sonata EF)

Fuel manifold (2.4L engine).

1 - intake manifold, 2 - throttle body, 3 - idle speed control servo, 4 - power transistor, 5 - sealing gasket, 6 - fuel manifold, 7 - fuel pressure regulator, 8 - injector, 9 - gasket, 10 - absolute pressure sensor and air temperature sensor in the intake manifold.

Fuel manifold (2.7L engine).

1 - intake manifold receiver, 2 - fuel pressure regulator, 3 - fuel manifold, 4 - injector, 5 - intake manifold, 6 - injector sealing gasket.

Removal

1. Release residual pressure from the high-pressure fuel lines to prevent fuel splashing.

Caution: Due to residual pressure in the high-pressure fuel line, cover the fuel filter with a rag to prevent fuel from splashing.

2. (2.0L/2.4L engines) Remove the injector protective cover.

3. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose from the fuel rail and the fuel return hose.

4. Remove the fuel manifold together with the injectors.

Note: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.

2.4L Engine

Installation

1. Installing the nozzle.

a) Install a new injector body sealing ring and a new injector nozzle O-ring.
b) Before installation, apply a little spindle oil or gasoline to the O-ring of the injector nozzle.

c) Carefully install the injector into the fuel manifold by turning it left and right. Do not damage the O-ring when installing the injector.
d) After installation, check whether the injector rotates smoothly in the fuel manifold.

Note: If the injector does not rotate smoothly in the fuel rail, the O-ring may be pinched. In this case, disconnect the injector from the fuel rail, reinsert it into the fuel rail and check if it rotates smoothly
