The purge solenoid valve operates in pulse-width mode to control the air flow to purge the fuel vapor recovery system's purge canister.

Set the ignition switch to the "ON" position (engine not running) and read the tester readings. In the normal state, the purge solenoid valve of the canister should be activated.
