Electronic steering system EPS (Hyundai Getz 1)

The steering column with the EPS electronic steering system uses an electric motor to facilitate steering wheel rotation. It is an independent control system. EPS controls the electric motor to provide different steering wheel rotation amplification depending on driving conditions and the drive consumes less energy than the hydraulic power steering. Since there is no hydraulic power steering drive, the electronic drive is environmentally friendly, and there are no pipelines in the engine compartment, which increases free space and reduces the weight of the Hyundai Getz.



To detect the torque, a magnetic sensor is used, which converts the magnetic signal into a current signal according to the relative angular change between the input and output of the torsion bar.

EPSCM is located on the steering column in the vehicle interior.

Security measures

1. Electronic elements of the system that have been impacted must be replaced with new ones.
