Note:
- After any work related to the ingress of air into the brake system, bleed it.
- The bleeding procedure is the same for each wheel brake. Perform pumping in the sequence shown in the figure.
Caution: Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with painted surfaces. If brake fluid comes into contact with a painted surface, wash it off immediately.
1. Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and fill the reservoir with brake fluid.
- Brake fluid type: SAE J 1703 or FMVSS 116 DOT3 or DOT4
2. Connect the hose to the bleeder port on the disc brake caliper or drum brake slave cylinder. Dip the free end of the hose into a container half-filled with clean brake fluid.
3. Slowly press the brake pedal several times.
4. Keeping the pedal fully depressed, loosen the bleeder plug until brake fluid starts to flow out. Then tighten the bleeder screw and release the brake pedal.
5. Repeat steps. "3" - "4" until air bubbles stop appearing along with the brake fluid.
6. Tighten the bleed screw.
- Tightening torque: 7-13 Nm
