Installation



1. Install the rocker arms and springs onto the rocker shaft. Install the rocker shaft onto the cylinder head and secure with bolts, tightening them to the specified torque.

Tightening torque:
  • 1.3L engine: 20–27 Nm
  • 1.1L engine: 22–37 Nm

The springs of the rocker shafts of the intake and exhaust valves are the same. Install them so that the small chamfer between the two parts of the rocker shaft is located on the side of the timing drive.



3. Install the cylinder head cover and secure with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.

Tightening torque: 8–10 Nm.

Attention!
  • 1. Before installing the cylinder head cover, apply a layer of sealant to the mating surface of the cylinder head.
  • 2. Apply a thin layer of sealant, otherwise it will be squeezed out under the cylinder head cover and may interfere with the operation of the valve drive mechanism.
  • 3. Use only the specified or equivalent grade of sealant.
  • 4. Sealant (Three bond # 1212D aluminum color) apply in four places.

Tightening torque: 10–12 Nm.

5. Install the wide hose, PCV valve, bypass hose and spark plug wires.
