The Hyundai Getz engine idle speed control modulator is made with two coils, which are controlled by separate master cascades of the engine control unit. Depending on the pulse supplied to them, the balance of magnetic field forces of the two coils leads to different angles of rotation of the modulator. The modulator is installed in the air channel bypassing the throttle valve. By passing additional air, the modulator regulates the engine idle speed.
Examination
1. Disconnect the connector from the idle speed control modulator.
2. Measure the resistance between the connector terminals.
Resistance between terminals 1 and 2: 10.5–14.0 Ohm
Resistance between terminals 2 and 3: 10–12.5 Ohm at 20°C
3. Connect the connector to the idle speed control modulator.
