Conditions for storing fault codes
The ECU stores the P0506 or P0507 code and turns on the engine management system malfunction indicator lamp if the governor control command values and idle speed do not agree with the values stored in the ECU memory in two driving cycles for 15 seconds. For this to happen, the following conditions must be met:
- air flow through the regulator at idle speed is greater than 4.1 g/s (at P0506) or 1.7 g/s (at P0507);
- crankshaft speed deviation from the norm is less than 200 min⁻¹;
- the speed of the car is zero;
- coolant temperature above 75°C.

The output of this code indicates that the position of the regulator valve and idle speed do not agree with the values stored in the ECU memory.
The ECU stores code P0506 or P0508 and turns on the engine management system malfunction indicator lamp if, in two driving cycles, the open coil control stage (for P01506) or the close coil control stage (for P01508) has a short circuit to the +12V battery circuit.
The ECU stores a fault code and turns on the engine management system malfunction indicator lamp if there is an open circuit or short circuit to ground in the open coil control stage (for P01505) or close coil control stage (for P01507) circuit within two driving cycles.
