The passive safety system contains complex electrical and electronic devices. Handle the system components with care.

Electronic control unit of the passive safety system

The control unit sends a signal to deploy the airbags in the event of a frontal collision based on a signal from the acceleration sensor.

DC-DC Converter

The power converter has voltage increase and decrease units that provide the required power supply for the circuits of the explosion and the internal working voltage. When the working voltage drops below a certain value, it is restored.

Executive sensor/safety sensor

The sensor is built into the airbag detonation circuit and is designed to put the system into working condition when detonation conditions arise. In a normal situation, the system is maintained in a non-working condition. The safety sensor is a two-contact, electromechanical one that is triggered at a certain acceleration (deceleration) level of the vehicle.

Residual nutrition

The SRS control module stores a certain amount of electrical energy, sufficient to inflate the airbag for a period of time after the main power is disconnected due to a collision.

SRS diagnostic electronic unit

The unit constantly monitors the SRS status when the ignition is on and determines the occurrence of system malfunctions. Malfunction codes can be read by the HI-SCAN (Pro) tester.

Malfunction indicator lamp

If a malfunction occurs, the control unit lights the control lamp to inform the driver of the system malfunction. After turning on the ignition, six flashes of the lamp indicate the normal state of the system.

Writing codes

When a malfunction occurs, the control unit records the corresponding code in the memory. The code is read and deleted by the HI-SCAN (Pro) tester.

Data reading connector (diagnostic connector)

The connector is installed under the front panel on the driver's side and is designed to connect external devices, such as the HI-SCAN (Pro) tester.

Caution! Once the airbag has deployed, the SRS electronic control unit cannot be reused. Install a new unit.
