Airbag module and airbag inflator (gas generator) (Mitsubishi Matrix)

0
The airbag consists of: the driver's frontal airbag module (DAB) and the passenger's frontal airbag module (PAB), the driver's side airbag module (DSAB) and the passenger's side airbag module (PSAB).

The inflation device consists of a gas generator and a cushion bag. The gas generator has an electric igniter. In the event of a frontal or side collision with acceleration sufficient to close the acceleration sensor contacts, the control unit supplies power to the electric igniter circuit. The igniter ignites the combustible composition, and the combustion products inflate the cushion bag.

The removed airbag module should be stored under the unit cover facing upwards. The unit connector has two latches. The connector locking lever should be in the locking position. The connector position during storage should exclude accidental damage. Do not stack airbag units one on top of the other.

Never attempt to measure the resistance of the igniter as this may cause the airbag to detonate and cause an accident.

Do not allow the pillow module to heat up to a temperature above 93°C. Do not store the pillow in high humidity conditions and away from power cables.

When carrying out welding work, disconnect the airbag connector (under the steering column, next to the combination switch).
