Caution: When performing any work on the SRS system, follow the instructions in the section "Safety precautions during operation and maintenance".
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery and securely insulate the wire connector.
Warning: Please wait at least 30 seconds before proceeding further.
2. Remove the glove box.
3. Disconnect the passenger front airbag module connector.
4. Remove the instrument panel assembly and remove the passenger front airbag module.
5. The protective cover of the passenger front airbag module is integrated into the instrument panel cover, so after the passenger airbag has deployed, the instrument panel cover must be replaced.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Examination
Airbag module
Note: After the passenger airbag deploys, the airbag module assembly and its wiring must be replaced. The igniter melts when the passenger airbag deploys, rendering the module wiring inoperative.
