Removing the driver's front airbag module and SRS coil wire.
1 - driver's front airbag module, 2 - steering wheel mounting lock nut, 3 - steering wheel, 4 - SRS spiral wire, 5 - steering column.
Caution: When performing any work on the SRS system, follow the instructions in the section "Safety precautions during operation and maintenance".
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery and securely insulate the wire connector.

Caution: After disconnecting the battery cable, wait at least 30 seconds before proceeding with further work.
2. Remove the side protective covers of the steering wheel, unscrew the airbag module mounting bolts using an Allen key.

3. To disconnect the SRS coil wire connector from the air bag module, press the lock toward the outside and release it.
Caution: To avoid damaging the connector, do not apply excessive force when disconnecting the connector that connects the coil wire and the airbag module.

4. Remove the driver's front airbag module.

Caution: The removed airbag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the protective cover (front side) facing up.
5. Using a special tool, remove the steering wheel.
Caution: Do not knock on the steering wheel when removing it, as this may damage the steering column folding mechanism.

6. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When installing, pay attention to the operation of installing the spiral wire.
- a) Check that the front wheels are aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
- b) To set the spiral wire to the neutral position, turn its upper part clockwise until it stops. From this position, turn its upper part approximately 3 turns counterclockwise and align the installation marks (→←).
- c) Install the SRS coil wire to the vehicle.
Caution: If the alignment marks of the spiral wire are not fully aligned when turning, the steering wheel may not turn completely or the SRS wiring may become disconnected.

Examination
Airbag module
Caution: Never attempt to measure the resistance of a component's igniter circuit, even with the recommended tester. Measuring the circuit resistance with a tester may cause unauthorized deployment of the component (airbag).
1. Check the airbag module protective cover for cracks, dents, or deformation.
2. Inspect the airbag module for dents, cracks, or deformation.
3. Check the condition (absence of kinks and pinching) of the wire harnesses, absence of damage to the clamps, absence of damage to the connectors and deformation of the connector terminals.
4. Check the body of the inflatable device (gas generator) for dents, cracks or deformations.

5. Install the airbag module on the steering wheel and check the conformity (in size and fit) of the module and the steering wheel.
a. Airbag module
6. If at least one of the tested parts is found to be defective as a result of the test, replace the airbag module with a new one.
SRS Spiral Wire
1. Check for damage to the spiral wire connectors and protective tubes, and for deformation of the connector terminals.
2. If at least one of the defects is detected as a result of the checks, then replace the SRS spiral wire with a new one.
