Intake manifold (2.7L engine).
1 - engine noise protection casing, 2 - intake manifold receiver, 3 - fuel pressure regulator, 4 - fuel manifold, 5 - injector, 6 - intake manifold, 7, 8 - intake manifold gaskets, 9 - intake manifold mounting bracket.
Removal
1. Disconnect the air intake hose from the throttle body.
2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable and the cruise control cable.
3. Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body.
4. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation valve hose and the brake booster vacuum hose.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
6. Remove the intake manifold receiver support bracket.
7. Before disconnecting the high-pressure fuel hose from the fuel rail, release any residual pressure from the high-pressure fuel lines to prevent fuel from splashing.
8. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose from the fuel rail and the fuel return hose.

9. Remove the intake manifold receiver and gasket.
10. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness connector.
11. Remove the fuel manifold together with the injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
Caution: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel rail.
12. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.

13. Remove the intake manifold assembly and gasket.
Examination
Intake manifold and receiver
1. Check the intake manifold receiver and intake manifold for damage, cracks, or clogged vacuum hose fittings, cooling system passages, and lubrication system passages.
2. Using a precision ruler and a flat feeler gauge, measure the warpage (non-flatness) of the mating surfaces of the intake manifold, intake manifold receiver and cylinder block.
- Nominal value: 0.15mm or less
- Maximum permissible value: 0.20 mm
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
2. When installing the parts, pay attention to the installation operation of the intake manifold.
The sequence for tightening the intake manifold is shown in the figure.
Tightening torque:
- Intake manifold mounting bolts: 19-21 Nm
- Intake manifold receiver mounting bolts: 15-20 Nm
