Note:
- This procedure charges the air conditioning system with refrigerant in the gaseous phase through the low pressure service port.
- Only installing the cylinder in a vertical position will ensure that the refrigerant in the gaseous state is charged.
1. Install a valve on the refrigerant charge cylinder as described in section "Preparing the refrigerant bottle for charging the system".
2. Open the low pressure fitting valve of the gauge manifold. Adjust the valve position so that the low pressure line pressure gauge shows a system pressure of 412 kPa or less.
3. Place the filling bottle in a container of warm water (temperature not higher than 40°С) to pressurize the refrigerant gas in the cylinder slightly above the refrigerant pressure in the system.
4. Start the engine and set the idle speed to high (warm-up speed). Turn on the air conditioner.
Note: If the charge cylinder is upside down, liquid refrigerant may enter the compressor through the low pressure line and cause damage. Always install the cylinder in a vertical position to ensure that the refrigerant is charged in the gaseous state.
5. Charge the air conditioning system with the nominal amount of refrigerant. Then close the low pressure port valve. If the refrigerant enters the system too slowly, immerse the charging cylinder in a container of warm water (temperature not higher than 40°С).
- Coolant quantity: 680±25g
Attention:
- Under no circumstances should the refrigerant bottle be heated in water over 52°C).
- It is not allowed to heat the cylinder with a blowtorch or gas burner.
