Before replacing or repairing air conditioning system components, make sure there is a malfunction and check what it may be related to (refrigerant, air flow, compressor).
Causes of malfunctions and methods of their elimination
Attention:
- The numbers indicate the sequence of testing.
- Replace or repair faulty parts.
No air cooling (air supplied)
1. The compressor electromagnetic clutch does not engage.
- a) Check the fuse.
- b) Check the air conditioner switch.
- c) Check the triple switch for refrigerant pressure.
- d) Check the thermal switch.
- d) Check the air conditioning compressor relay.
- e) Check the compressor electromagnetic clutch.
- g) Check the air conditioning control unit.
2. Not enough refrigerant in the system - check the amount of refrigerant and top up the system with refrigerant.
3. The receiver-dryer is blocked - check the receiver-dryer.
4. Uneven rotation of the compressor pulley - check the tension of the compressor drive belt and adjust the belt tension.
5. Low compression in the compressor - check the compressor.
6. The distribution valve is blocked.
Poor cooling
1. Not enough refrigerant in the system - check the amount of refrigerant and top up the system with refrigerant.
2. The receiver-dryer is blocked - check the receiver-dryer.
3. Dirty surface of the air conditioner condenser - check the surface of the condenser fins and clean the surface.
4. Excess refrigerant in the air conditioning system - check the amount of refrigerant in the system and remove the excess.
5. Uneven rotation of the compressor pulley - check the tension of the compressor drive belt and adjust the belt tension.
6. Low compression in the compressor - check the compressor.
7. Air in the air conditioning system - measure the pressure and create a vacuum (evacuation), fill the system with refrigerant.
8. Clogged expansion valve.
Insufficient air flow
1. Leaks through air duct connections - check air duct connections.
2. Frost on the evaporator - check the thermal switch.
3. The fan motor is faulty - check the fan motor.
Cold air is supplied intermittently
1. Air in the air conditioning system - measure the pressure and create a vacuum (evacuation), fill the system with refrigerant.
2. The expansion valve is faulty.
