Attention: Since the brakes are necessary for the safe operation of the car, it is recommended that they be checked by your authorized Hyundai dealer. Brake wear must be checked at the intervals indicated on the Periodic Maintenance Chart in the Service Book.
Checking the brake fluid level
Warning: Be especially careful when handling brake fluid. If it comes into contact with the eyes, it may damage the eyesight. It can also damage your vehicle's paintwork if it is not washed off immediately after contact with the car body.
Recommended brake fluid
Use only brake fluid meeting DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications in your vehicle's brake system. Follow package directions.
Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. The brake fluid level must be between the marks "MAX" ("Maximum") And "MIN" («Minimum») on the tank. If the brake fluid level is at or below the "MSN" («Minimum») on the reservoir, carefully add fluid to the mark "MAX" ("Maximum"), Do not add too much brake fluid.
Adding brake fluid
Warning: Handle brake fluid with care as it is hazardous to the eyes and may damage the painted surfaces of the vehicle. Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 approved brake fluid from a sealed container. Do not keep the brake fluid reservoir cap open longer than necessary. This is necessary in order to prevent the ingress of dirt, which can damage the brake system and render it unusable.
To add brake fluid:
- 1) If necessary, remove the air filter cover.
- 2) Remove dirt and unscrew the cap of the brake fluid reservoir,
- 3) Slowly add the required amount of brake fluid. Do not add too much brake fluid.
- 4) Carefully install the cap on the tank and tighten it.
