Torsion beam rear suspension
Withdrawal
Remove the rear wheel.
Bolts of fastening of an axis of a nave of a back wheel
Remove the rear wheel hub and wheel bearing.
Disconnecting the parking brake cable
Disconnect the parking brake cable.
Fastening brake hoses and brake pipelines to the rear suspension beam
Disconnect the brake hose and brake pipe.
Installing a jack under the rear suspension torsion beam
Place a jack under the torsion beam and unscrew the lower mounting bolt of the rear shock absorber.
Slowly lowering the jack, remove the suspension spring.
Bolts of an arm of fastening of a torsion beam to a body
Turn away bolts of an arm of fastening of a torsion beam to a body.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the screw connections to the torques listed below.
Tightening torques, Nm:
- Bolts of fastening of the bearing of a nave of a back wheel — 80–90
- Bolt of the lower fastening of the suspension shock absorber - 100-120
- Bolts of fastening of a torsion beam of a suspension bracket — 100–120
- Suspension beam bracket mounting bolts - 100–120
Connect the parking brake cable.
Bleed air from hydraulic brakes (see section «Brake system»).
Rear shock absorbers
Withdrawal
Remove the rear wheel.
Rear shock absorber cap
In the luggage compartment, remove the carpet from the sidewall lining and remove the plug with a screwdriver.
Nut of the top fastening of the shock-absorber
Loosen the top shock absorber nut.
Place a jack under the rear suspension beam and remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt.
Remove the rear shock absorber.
Checking the technical condition
Check the shock absorber for wear or damage.
Check rubber parts for damage and material degradation.
Checking the operation of the shock absorber
Check the shock absorber for increased stiffness or extraneous sound during operation.
Installation
Tightening the upper shock absorber nut
Tighten the shock absorber upper mounting nut.
Install a jack under the suspension beam.
Raise the car to the desired height and tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt to 100–120 Nm.
Attention! Check the correct position of the suspension spring.
Rear suspension springs
Withdrawal
Remove the rear wheel.
Note. When removing the suspension beam, make sure that the brake hose is not loaded.
Brake hose holder
Remove the brake hose retainer.
Place a jack under the suspension beam and unscrew the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
Turn away a bolt of fastening of a beam to an arm and three bolts of fastening of an arm to a body.
Remove suspension spring.
Checking the technical condition
Check the suspension spring for cracks and deformation.
Check the spring cups for damage and deformation.
Installation
Upper spring cup
The last coil of the spring should be located in the groove of the upper support cup.
Insert the lower support cup into the spring.
Install the suspension spring to its original position.
Bolts of fastening of an arm of a beam of a suspension bracket to a body
Raise the car with a jack and tighten the bolts securing the suspension beam bracket to the body.
Tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
Rear wheel hubs
Rear wheel hub: 1 - rear suspension beam; 2 – a nave of a back wheel; 3 - brake drum
Withdrawal
Remove the brake drum.
To remove the brake drum from the wheel hub, unscrew the fastening screw.
Remove the wheel speed sensor (on vehicles with ABS).
Loosen the rear wheel hub bolts.
Removal of a nave of a back wheel in gathering with an axis
Remove the hub through the brake mechanism.
Checking the technical condition
Check the hub for cracks or damage.
Check the cap and the open part of the stuffing box for signs of grease leakage.
Make sure there is no excessive noise when the hub rotates.
Checking the moment of resistance to rotation of the wheel bearing
Check the moment of resistance to rotation of the hub bearing.
The moment of resistance to rotation is not more than 1.8 Nm.
Installation
