Removal



Disconnect the air intake duct from the air filter.

Disconnect the intake manifold air temperature sensor connector.

Disconnect the air inlet hose from the air cleaner side.

Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter element.

Loosen the air filter housing mounting bolts and remove the housing (Fig. 2.204).

Examination



Check the air filter housing, cover and filter element for deformation, corrosion or damage.

Check the air intake duct for damage.

Check the resonator for deformation or damage.

Check the filter element for clogging, contamination or damage. If the filter element is slightly contaminated or clogged, remove dust and other contaminants by blowing it with compressed air from the outside (from the side facing the intake manifold) (Fig. 2.205).

Check the remaining air filter parts for clogging, dirt or damage.

Installation



Install the air filter assembly in the reverse order of removal.
