Parking brake.
1 - lever button, 2 - parking brake lever, 3 - parking brake cables.
Withdrawal
1. Remove the floor console.
2. Loosen the parking brake lever adjusting nut.
3. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever.
4. Remove the parking brake lever bolts.
5. Disconnect the parking brake indicator connector.
6. Remove the rear seats and carpet.
7. Remove the parking brake actuator torso retainer and gasket.
8. Slide the muffler heat shield forward.
9. Turn away a bolt, remove it together with a nut and disconnect an arm of a cable.
10. Jack up the car, unscrew the bolts and remove the rear wheel.
- Tightening torque: 90-110 Nm
11. Remove the brake drum.
Note:
- Make sure the parking brake lever is released.
- If there are difficulties during removal, unscrew the bolts from the technological holes and change the location of the pads by turning the adjuster.
12. Remove the rear wheel hub.
13. Remove springs and pins.
14. Remove the parking brake cable retainer.
15. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
16. Pull on the cable to remove it.
Examination
1. Make sure that the parking brake and its indicator work correctly. If necessary, replace the relevant parts.
2. Check the parking brake lever ratchet components for damage.
3. Check for damage to the parking brake cable.
4. Check and, if necessary, adjust the travel of the parking brake lever (see section "Checks and adjustments").
Installation
1. The parking brake is installed in the reverse order of removal, the tightening torques of the bolts and nuts are indicated in the text of the description of the removal procedure.
2. When installing, pay attention to the following operations.
- A) Make sure that the color marks on the parking brake cable clamps match.
- Left cable tie label: yellow
- Right cable tie label: white
- b) If necessary, adjust the position of the brake pads by turning the adjuster.
- V) Install the cables as shown in the illustration.
- G) Apply grease to all moving parts of the parking brake lever ratchet.
- Grease: SAE J310, NLGI #2
3. After installation, check and, if necessary, adjust the stroke of the parking brake lever (see section "Checks and adjustments").
