ESP's effectiveness in preventing loss of vehicle control is affected by factors such as speed, road conditions, and steering angle.
Attention! Operating the vehicle with tires or wheels of different sizes may damage the ESP. When changing wheels, make sure they are the same size.
Enable/Disable ESP

When the vehicle's electronic stability control system is in operation (ESP) the ESP indicator flashes on the dashboard. When the ESP is turned off by pressing the ESP switch, the ESP-OFF indicator will light up. In this case, the vehicle stability control will be disabled: you will have to independently control the stability of the vehicle. to turn on the ESP, press the switch again. ESP will be activated and the ESP-OFF indicator will turn off.
Note. The ESP mode is activated automatically after the ignition key is turned to the «ON» or after restarting the engine.
Fault indication
After turning the ignition key to position «ON» or «START» the indicators on the dashboard should light up for 3 seconds, then turn off. If the indicators do not light up, and the ESP or ESP-OFF indicator does not turn off after 3 seconds, contact an authorized Hyundai dealer to diagnose the vehicle.
If unusual conditions occur in the ESP system while the vehicle is moving, the ESP-OFF indicator lights up as a warning. In this case, stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine. Then start the engine again and check if the indicator has gone out.
