In all cases where a refrigerant leak is suspected or work has been carried out involving disconnecting components or loosening connections, perform a leak test of the system using an electronic leak detector.
1. Check the tightening torques of the pipe connections. If the tightening is loose, tighten the connections to the required torques. Use a leak detector to make sure there are no leaks of refrigerant vapor.
2. If the leak is not eliminated after tightening the connection, discharge the air conditioning system, disconnect the connection and check the sealing surfaces for damage. Elements with even minor damage must be replaced.
3. Check the amount of compressor oil and top it up to the norm if necessary.
4. Charge the air conditioning system and check for leaks.
If no leaks are found, evacuate the air conditioning system and recharge the system.
