In all cases where a refrigerant leak is suspected or work has been done to disconnect components or loosen connections, use an electronic leak tester to check the system for leaks.
1. Check the tightening torques of the pipeline connections. When loosening the tightening, tighten the connections to the required torque. Use a leak detector to check for vapor refrigerant leaks.
2. If the leak persists after tightening the joint, discharge the air conditioning system, disconnect the joint, and check the sealing surfaces for damage. Elements with even minor damage must be replaced.
3. Check the amount of compressor oil and top up if necessary.
4. Charge the air conditioning system and check for leaks.
If no leaks are found, evacuate atmospheric air from the air conditioning system and charge the system.
