Disassembly
1. Clamp the differential housing in a vise.
2. Remove the bolts holding the differential drive gear and remove it from the housing.
3. Remove the ball bearing using the special tool (09433-21000; 09532-11301)
4. Drive the locking pin out of hole A.
5. Knock out the axis of the satellite.
6. Remove both pinion gears and washers, side gears and spacer rings.
Assembly
1. Install the spacer ring on the back side of the side gear and then install the gear into the differential housing.
Warning:
- 1. When installing a new side gear, use a medium-thick spacer (0.93-1.00mm).
- 2. Do not reuse the locking pin.
- 3. The head of the locking pin must be recessed under the face of the differential housing flange.
2. Install a washer on the back side of each pinion and set both pinion gears to the desired positions while engaging them with side gears by turning.
3. Install the satellite axle.
4. Measure a backlash between semiaxial gear wheels and satellites.
- Standard value: 0.025-0.150 mm
5. If the clearance is out of specification, disassemble and install a proper spacer ring, then reassemble and remeasure.
Warning. Adjust the clearance for both side gears to the same value.
6. Align the lock pin hole in the pinion shaft with the lock pin hole in the differential case and install the lock pin.
Warning:
- 1. Do not reuse lock pin.
- 2. Locking pin head must be recessed and located below the differential housing flange face.
7. Install the tapered roller bearings on both sides of the differential case using the special tool (09455-21100).
Warning. When installing bearings with a press fit, press only the inner ring.
8. Apply recommended sealing compound to the bolt threads and tighten them in the order shown in the illustration to the correct torque with the differential housing clamped in a vise.
- Recommended sealant: «Three Bond 1303» or «Loctite 648»
Warning. If the bolt is reused, remove the old sealant from its threads.
