Removal
1. Remove the clamping ring using a special tool (09432-21201).

2. Remove the front bearing using a special tool (09432-21300).
3. Remove the bearing sleeve using a special tool (09455-21000).

4. Remove the rear bearing using a special tool (09432-21300).
5. Remove the inner ring and auxiliary gear.

6. Remove the fourth speed gear, needle roller bearing, synchronizer ring, synchronizer sleeve for third-fourth gear.
7. Remove the needle roller bearing bushing, third-fourth speed synchronizer hub, needle roller bearing using the special tool (09432-21300).

Examination
Input shaft
1. Check the outside surface of the input shaft where the needle bearing is mounted for damage or excessive wear (Part A).

2. Check the splines for damage or wear.
Needle bearing
1. Connect the needle bearing to the shaft or bearing sleeve and gear and check for smooth rotation without excessive noise or beating.
2. Check if the needle bearing separator is deformed.
Synchronizer ring
1. Check the wheel teeth for damage.
2. Check the inner surface for damage, wear, and thread defects.

3. Press the synchronizer ring towards the clutch mechanism and check the gap "A".
If the gap is outside the specified limits, replace the ring.
- Limit: 0.5 mm
