Towing by this method should not be used if there is damage to the wheels, chassis, axles, steering components or brake system. Before towing, make sure that the gearshift lever is in neutral and the ignition key is in the ACC position (when the engine is not running) or in the ON position (when the engine is running). When towing, the driver must be in the vehicle to control it.
When towing a vehicle using the hook at the rear of the vehicle:
- open the tow hook cover by pressing it with your finger;
- to install the towing hook, rotate it clockwise.
Caution! The towing hook must be tightened firmly until there is no gap in the towing hook hole. The towing hook is located in the luggage compartment.
Caution: Attach a towing rope, chain or strap to the towing hook at the lower rear of the vehicle.
Note: To avoid serious damage to a 4WD vehicle, towing at speeds exceeding 15 km/h and for distances exceeding 1.5 km is prohibited.
Note: Before towing, check the automatic transmission fluid level. If it is below the HOT mark on the dipstick, add fluid.
Attention! If the car does not start, it should be taken into account that the brake and steering boosters do not work, therefore, it will be much more difficult to control such a car when it is towed.
Warning! If all four wheels are on the ground when towing, the towing rope must be attached to the front of the vehicle only. Make sure the gearbox is in neutral before towing. Do not tow the vehicle at speeds exceeding 30 km/h or for distances exceeding 25 km.
