Handling the spare tire (Hyundai Santa Fe CM)

To remove the spare wheel, open the tailgate. Remove the cover of the mounting bolt using a screwdriver or coin (Fig. 1.192

Using a wheel brace, loosen the spare wheel mounting nut until the spare wheel is lowered to the ground (Fig. 1.193).

Pull the spare wheel out from under the vehicle and remove the holder from the central part of the wheel rim (Fig. 1.194).

Installing a spare tire



Place the spare tire on the ground with the valve facing up.

Slide the spare tire under the vehicle and install the holder in the center of the wheel rim.

Align the holder with the holes in the disc for the wheel nuts.

Use the wheel wrench to tighten the spare wheel mounting nut until it clicks into place.

Install the mounting bolt cover using a screwdriver or coin.

Note: Stop tightening the spare tire fastener after one or two clicks.
