Radiator cap: 1 - inlet valve; 2 - exhaust valve
Examination
1. Remove all foreign matter from the valve and valve seat of the Hyundai Getz radiator cap.

2. Attach the radiator cap to the radiator cap tester.
3. Create a pressure of 81.4 kPa.
4. After 10 seconds, check the pressure, which should not change. If necessary, replace the radiator cap.

Pressure testing the radiator cap
1. Remove the radiator cap, wet the cap gasket with coolant and secure the radiator cap to the tester.
2. Increase the pressure until the pressure gauge needle stops moving.
Nominal opening pressure of the main valve:
- cars with 1.1 and 1.3 l engines: 78–108 kPa
- cars with 1.5 and 1.6 l engines: 83–110 kPa
3. Make sure the valve opens and closes within the specified limits.
4. Replace the radiator cap if the valve opens and closes outside the specified limits.
Note: Before checking, make sure the cover is clean and free of rust and foreign matter that could interfere with its operation.
