Replacing the automatic transmission fluid filter (Hyundai Sonata EF)

1. Remove the air filter assembly, then use a special tool (filter chain wrench) to loosen the bolts and remove the automatic transmission fluid filter.



2. After removing the filter, use cloth gloves or a rag to clean the gearbox surface from traces of automatic transmission fluid, dirt, etc.

3. Check and clean the surface of the filter bracket on the gearbox adjacent to the automatic transmission fluid filter.

4. Apply a small amount of working fluid to the surface of the gasket of the new automatic transmission working fluid filter.



5. Install a new automatic transmission fluid filter using a special tool.

• Tightening torque: 11-13 Nm

6. Install the air filter
