If the engine oil pressure warning light comes on after the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started, the engine oil pressure sensor is good. If the engine oil pressure warning lamp does not come on after the ignition is turned on, check the condition of the oil pressure sensor, lamp, and wiring.
1. Using an ohmmeter, check the continuity of the connection between the sensor terminal and the cylinder block. If there is no continuity, replace the sensor.
2. Using an ohmmeter, check the continuity of the connection between the sensor terminal and the cylinder block when pressing the sensor sensing element. If the circuit does not open when the sensor is pressed, replace the sensor.
3. However, if there is no conductivity even when a 50 kPa vacuum is applied to the sensor opening, the sensor is working properly. Check the tightness of the sensor diaphragm and, if necessary, replace it.
