Replacing brake pads



If the front brake mechanism squeals while the vehicle is moving and braking, check the brake linings.

Removal



1. Remove the wheel with the tire.

2. Determine the thickness of the brake lining using the inspection window. If the thickness of the lining is less than the standard value, replace it.

Brake lining thickness, mm:
  • Norm - 11
  • Limit value - 2.0

3. Unscrew the two bolts and remove the rod.

4. Remove the brake cylinder and hang it on a wire.

Note: Do not disconnect the brake hose.


5. Remove the brake pads.

Warning: Do not press the brake pedal while removing the brake pads.


Examination



1. Check the brake linings for wear or oil contamination.

2. Check the gaskets for damage or deformation.

Installation



1. Install the brake pad clamps.

2. Install pads on each clamp.

Note:
  • 1) All 4 pads must be replaced as a set.
  • 2) Place the wear indicator pad on the piston side and on top.


3. Press the piston with a hammer handle or suitable tool.

4. Carefully insert the brake cylinder so as not to damage it.

5. Install the 2 guide rod bolts and tighten.
  • Guide rod bolt, tightening: 22-32 Nm.
