Withdrawal
Drain the coolant and disconnect the connecting hose from the coolant supply pipe from the coolant pump.
Remove the alternator drive belt and coolant pump pulley.
Remove the timing belt covers and timing belt tensioner.
Turn away bolts of fastening of the pump of a cooling liquid, remove an adjusting lath of the generator.
Remove the water pump assembly from the cylinder block.
Examination
Check each part for cracks, damage or wear, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
Check the bearing for damage, excessive running noise and slow rotation, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
Check pump for coolant leaks. If there are coolant leaks, the stuffing box assembly is faulty. Replace water pump assembly.
Installation
Remove the remnants of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the coolant pump and cylinder block
Install the O-ring into the groove of the inlet pipe of the cooling system. Lubricate the gasket with water (do not apply grease or oil).
Pic. 2.297. Pump mount
Install the water pump with a new gasket and tighten the pump mounting bolts to rated torque (pic. 2.297).
The moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the pump of a cooling liquid to the block of cylinders: 15–22 Н·м.
Install the timing belt tensioner and timing belt. Adjust the timing belt tension. Install the belt covers.
Install the water pump pulley and alternator drive belt, and then adjust the belt tension.
Fill the cooling system with clean coolant.
Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
