Removal
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the 3 bolts shown by the arrows in the figure, disconnect the airbag and horn switch connectors, and remove the driver's airbag module.
Note: On vehicles without airbags, remove the horn switch button.

6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the airbag module spring and the steering column switch assembly.

9. Remove the 4 steering shaft mounting bolts.

11. Remove the steering shaft assembly.

Examination
1. Disconnect the connector located under the steering column.
2. Check the conductivity between the connector contacts.
3. If the test results do not meet the requirements, replace the ignition switch.
