Bleeding the clutch hydraulic drive (Mitsubishi Matrix)

The clutch hydraulic drive should be bled every time the connecting pipe, hose and/or clutch hydraulic drive master cylinder is removed, and also when the clutch pedal becomes "soft".

Loosen the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder (Fig. 3.3).

Slowly press the clutch pedal all the way until the fluid stops leaking.

While holding the pedal in the forwardmost position, tighten the bleed screw.

Add the required grade of liquid to the tank to the normal level.

Caution! Rapidly repeated pressing of the pedal in the range B-C (Fig. 3.4) may result in the master cylinder piston being pushed out of the cylinder body during pumping. Repeated pressing of the pedal should be performed only after it has completely returned to position A.
