Malfunction indicator lamp (with European OBD) (Mitsubishi Matrix)

The malfunction indicator lamp lights up to warn the driver that there is a malfunction in the vehicle. However, if the detected malfunction does not occur after 3 consecutive driving cycles, the lamp goes out. The lamp lights up immediately after the ignition is turned on (without starting the engine), which indicates that it is in good condition.

List of faults that cause the malfunction indicator lamp to light:
  • the catalytic converter is faulty;
  • engine power supply system is faulty;
  • the absolute pressure sensor is faulty;
  • intake air temperature sensor is faulty;
  • coolant temperature sensor is faulty;
  • throttle position sensor is faulty;
  • upstream oxygen sensor is faulty;
  • the lower oxygen sensor heater is faulty;
  • the lower oxygen sensor is faulty;
  • upstream oxygen sensor heater faulty;
  • the injectors are faulty;
  • mixture misfires;
  • crankshaft position sensor is faulty;
  • camshaft position sensor is faulty;
  • the fuel vapor recovery system is faulty;
  • the vehicle speed sensor is faulty;
  • idle speed control is faulty;
  • the power supply circuit is faulty;
  • the engine control unit is faulty;
  • violation of coding on manual/automatic transmission;
  • the acceleration sensor is faulty;
  • malfunction indicator lamp request signal violation;
  • the ignition system power stage is faulty.
